The Former Glory rural craft display is based around our temporary travelling home "Bernard", a classic Oakley wooden bodied Bedford TK horsebox which is by far the largest piece of furniture we have ever restored and the first with an engine! His big surprise is the interior, a living area built totally out of recycled antique parts. There is a wardrobe, several kitchen cupboards, a 1960's enamel calor gas stove and a butlers sink, (but the children are always more interested in where the loo hides - ha-ha, where is it indeed!!?). The restoration process of this lovely old classic truck was started back in 2005 with 800 hours labour and has continued ever since. We have also added a vintage caravan fridge and extra cupboards spending probably a further 80 hours making alterations in the last couple of years.

Come and see us at work, ask us questions, see and feel the materials, have a go at weaving! For the "petrol heads" a photographic history of Bernard's restoration will help to while away the time.

If you are an event organiser looking for an interesting professional craft presentation, we are able to organise a limited number of event demonstrations/workshops each year. If you would like to know more, please click on the left hand photo below for more details about the various workshops offered. Our diary of events for 2010 will be compiled between now and February 2010.
